But look at how these ladies have been wearing it lately. Diane Kruger is a goddess in that black and gold cape by Jason Wu, spiced up with red lips, bag and nails. Perfectly restrained. No cheapness here. And then there was Nicole Kidman at the Country Music Awards. A perfectly cut L'Wren Scott black dress paired with bright red strappy heels. Perfect. Definitely classy and one of the best dressed. And apparently it works even as a dressed-down look. One Tree Hill's Sophia Bush paired that awesome red leather jacket with a white tee and black pants (and zebra print heels, just when you thought it couldn't get more awesome) and looked amazing. I am definitely going to try it like this. Are you?

Trend Alert: Red and Black
Trends come and go in fashion. We all know this. But sometimes you grow up with fashion rules so imbedded in your consciousness that you can never fully embrace trends as they crop up. I know people who simply cannot wear navy blue and black together. Or white shoes. Or a mini skirt after thirty five. Well that last one is me, but I happily will wear the rest. One 'rule' that I have struggled to break however is wearing red and black together. 'It's cheap,' I was told. 'Never look cheap.'
