Last weekend there was a dinner hosted by my favourite red carpet designer, Elie Saab. At this dinner some of his favourite famous faces turned up in garments that they chose from his latest collection. But because it was a dinner, they were not red carpet dresses, which was something of a disappointment for me. I know it is silly. But these outfits are lovely and we really should take a look at the best of them.
There is no doubt that the divine Ms Emily Blunt was the style standout in the canary yellow retro dress. This is such an important silhouette for next season - and such an important colour. Also looking lovely was the new lady on our style watch, Analeigh Tipton. She chose a red pant suit, and paired it with a black lace top. I love the leg-lengthening trouser. Stunning. Not sure that top works, however. But she is so lovely I am going to forgive this slight miss. And then there was the wee Dakota Fanning. So young and yet such a fashion devotee. Nice choice for her. Simple. Fiercely on trend with that peplum detail, the length and the lace. No inappropriateness. That's always the key with the kids. So well played all round, right? Who do you think wore Elie Saab ready-to-wear best?
